Update: I went back to windows 10 and after New installation, went to settings > update and got all the latest Windows 10 updates installed. I went through the restore process and reverted back to windows 7. Yes earlier versions caused some glitches in music software. Which mind you they are all updated versions too! So anyhow, I have all of my music and cdg's on external hard drives and they play fine on my home desktop (with the older versions of the software and on xp)! But I take them directly from the hard drive to the play list window highlight and start but it only shows the name of the file to be played but no sound and the ticker(counter) does not chage from zeros! When I load the cdg's in the sax-n-dotty program and push play it says that winamp is not there, closed or not configured correctly.Windows 10 is awesome.
Yes I had to because my whole computer was being affected and all of the sounds being put out by the computer are now distorted and very fuzzy sounding! It has gotten to the point where the songs just keep starting on thier own and repeating as soon as the song is finished! All of my equipment checks out fine when I took it to the music shop to be checked for a blown speaker or head, but it's working perfect they said! So here I am a thousand dollars in the hole and can't get the programs to work on this computer.
